Sick isn't it. Profligacy at this point of the nation's history seems so inappropriate. You'd think that Grove would know better, if not Bush. So much for walking the talk. He's asking for austerity in the budget and then breaks out the best champagne to usher in his new term. What can I say, but Argh!

I think the salient bits for me are:

Historically US presidents have favored low key inaugurations during times of war and calamity.. YET


One of his Dallas contributors suggested that the $40 mil be spent on the tsunami victims. It went over like a lead balloon.

We're at war and the economy is floundering, and he wants to put on the most expensive inauguration in history.

LET THEM EAT CAKE!
