The desire for a less mechanized food supply gets stronger ever day. Most towns have room for more than one provider. Mackie consolidated many of the finest natural foods grocery operations in America into his own brand in a relatively short period. Not easy to do, as it was a retail industry built by real individualists.

I have been following this thread closely for a long time. I find it greatly informative and civil. Thanks to all.

Sprouts blows 'em away too....they're in the same markets here in Phoenix, and Sprouts is kicking their arse (I wouldn't know though, cause I "shop" at the Food 4 Less dumpster!<G>)
