<Now if Abbas keeps saying "I'm against the attacks", and Fatah keeps doing the attacks, then Abbas is wearing a sign that says "I am a Powerless Figurehead"> He is not an all-powerful leader -- far from it. He cannot stop the attacks swiftly and certainly despite anything you and I might wish. The same is true for Sharon who cannot wave a magic wand and dismantle all settlements overnight and control the behavior of all "settlers". You can take reality as it is or you can use reality as an excuse. But the reality is that Abbas does NOT have direct control over the terrorists. Now what are you going to do?
