Suma, Great point! U.S would have the best health care in the world, but as long as they continue with the current system in place, the lobbyists will get stronger and stronger.
Nra is a good example.

Our medical schools were the best in the world when I was a guidance counselor at a high school.
Stanford Medical School. Harvard Medical School. Yale Medical School. Johns Hopkins Medical School. Duke University Medical School. University of Pennsylvania Medical School. UCSF Medical School. University of Michigan Medical School.

If you care to produce a list of better schools from one country, you may do so.

And on what basis do you seem to make the assertion that America is now lacking in outstanding medical schools?

Many foreign students came here to study.
Many foreign students STILL come here to study.

what has happened .. the paper work for Doctors has become so extreme...that many of the good Doctors have left the practice.
You think the docs are doing the paperwork? What are those women in the side offices doing? And the doctor's billing service?

My cousin in Atlanta who was a Yale graduate and a very good Doctor left the field early because of the red tape, law suits, high cost of liability insurance and deteriorating situations in hospitals
The tort system needs reform. I already stated that. Wanna argue the point? Go see geode00 on Compendium. He thinks it's JUST FINE!

I went to a GROUP office the other day.
Group practice has been around for many decades.

All three gastroentrolgists were from foreign countries. This is not to imply that they are not good. My Malaysian Doctor was difficult to understand, that's all. I have faith.

My Father had a Dr. from India.

Is your point that American medical schools aren't graduating enough doctors then?

Or that they are so bad nobody will go to them when every class is not only full and the school accepts only a small percentage of applicants?

Or that practicing medicine in this country is so difficult and arduous that we are attracting death defying heroes from other countries?

I think your point needs clarification.
