Spyware

I had some problems with it, until I installed ad-aware. None since. Now that I use Firefox, ad-aware only pulls up about one implant a week.

I don't get popups, period. Well, once in a great while, if I surf a foreign newspaper or something like that. I don't even read Indian news sites anymore, they're terrible for popups.

Washington Post had an article a few weeks ago about a guy whose computer was taken over by spyware. The solution was to reformat the hard drive.

As much as people hate AOL, I stick with them for my email because they have really improved keeping out spam.

Also, I use McAfee Virus Scan, Spybot Search and Destroy, Spyware Doctor, AdAware, and clean out my cookies and my temp files and temporary internet files religiously.

And I use Firefox. And I don't surf porn sites.

I made a big mistake around Christmas time, trying Kazaa. Don't do it. They say that they don't install spyware, which is an outright lie.
