I'll try and debit out of the trade once the price reaches it's breakeven point to minimize my loss. If your spread is deep OTM, it's alot more difficult. I typically trade only high options volume equitites or indexes so that I have a better chance of executing my exit strategies. By using the calculators in optionsrez.com I know what max loss my trades can withstand for a positive expectancy. This provides me with an exit target.
