The real Tet Offensive in being launched bird flu in Vietnam this year. It is now spreading via asymptomatic ducks, and keeping it out of the food supply will be VERY difficult because the ducks excrete the stable virus at high concentrations even though the ducks appear to be healthy (and the virus is lethal in humans).

The virus has spread from the Mekong Delta in the south to the Central Highlands and cases are beginning to appear in Hanoi (duck is very popular in meals celebrating the Tet Lunar New Year).

The Tet Offensive is heating up in northern Vietnam. It looks like human to human transmission (brother of fatal pneumonoia cases has tested positive for bird flu, but no exposure to birds)
