We had our chance early on.

The perception to the Muslim world is that bin Laden has won. He struck the US with impunity. Nothing to fear from the US even if you take down two buildings, kill 3K and attack the Pentagon. He's alive and well and communicating with the world, even lecturing the US.

We needed to get him when we could; swift retribution. Now, it may not be possible.

Bush has lost the "war on terrorism".
