It is an argument in favor of the rules on the ground, not the hypotheticals that could be entertained. The rules of administration were made by the Turks and the British. People relied upon them in their plans. No "Palestine" existed.

There are many arab countries including one Palestinian one already in Jordan. Your above statement has more meaning if you substitute jewish for arab and recognize the right of a jewish state to exist in the region side by side with all the arab states including a second palestinian one if thats what they desire. Noone here is denying the Arab rights to nationhood or to as many nations as they desire.
