"Intelligent design" is nonsense, pure and simple. It explains nothing, it just hypothesizes this cosmic designer, of which the only available example is, well, you know. There's no evidence whatsover for this alleged grand designer aside from what the faithful need to believe. It is being foisted upon the innocent, though, as if it actually meant something.

Those books you cited about intelligent design look interesting and complex and philosophical. I think it is important to keep an open mind. The concepts seem very difficult to teach to children because of their complexity, however. I would not object to my child being presented with different theories of how life began, etc. in a comparative sti But I suspect that is not what would actually happen in schools. Intelligent design just seems like a creationist shell game sort of concept at that level.

My own feeling is that if intellegent design was operative in the creation of the universe--GOD HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!!!

Another question--aimed at anyone reading this--must all creatures have evolved? What about random chaos theory?
