I just don't think you should leap to the assumption that all vegans and vegetarians abuse their animals, or feed them dangerous vegan and vegetarian diets, or that all vegan and vegetarian pet foods are dangerous. Quite a range of assumptions that I believe you made are all untrue, I think. Some vegetarian and vegan diets meet all the nutritional requirements for dogs and cats, many vegans and vegetarians are very cautious about adopting such diets for their pets until the research is more conclusive, and vegan and vegetarian pets can live a long time. Also, commercial pet foods are quite horrible for all pets, period.

I cannot tell if you were semi-joking in the first place, and we both love to feed wild birds, so perhaps a truce is in order on this issue?
