A very astute dose of reality.Over the years, I've tried various trading methods, including "let your profits run" and cutting losses at 20% of initial purchase price; technical systems, momentum, new high breakouts etc.I've abandoned the search for untold riches, e.g. buy microsoft at 5 and hold it forever, or Intel, or yahoo etc.I try to identify currently favored areas, and scalp a few points in generally more substantial stocks in those areas. Over time, this method has been profitable but never spectacular. Thus I try to avoid falling victim to the pitfalls engineered by the large WS firms.
