I agree with you there. It does seem that as more people enter the investing world, the more it becomes psychology driven. But you have to expect this, because most people don't have finance degrees. So it takes time for collective wisdom to encompass investing concepts. Eventually, investing will become so widespread that investing do and don't will be taught as people grow up, as a matter of course.

There will always be the gambling element. For instance, there is always some portion of the population that will spend all their money in Vegas. However, the majority stay away from gambling, if they can help it. Education on the difference between gambling and investing will help to tamp the gambling momentum a little.
