LOL. I'd have to disagree with all of that completely.

I believe that a decent amount of socialism in the system, through tax structures for instance, helps provide checks and balances in our society. Allow one small group to become overwhelmingly wealthy and powerful and they will siphon off all the wealth of the country for themselves. Provide a redistribution mechanism, say taxes, and you all for a regenerative society, ennabling the poor and middle classes to climb the economic ladder as well.

But socialism can be a very slippery slope. Thus, my unease at it in social security and other places.
