"Out of curiosity--were you surprised by your scores?"

Actually, no. The way I see it, they reflect a high degree of open-mindedness and tolerance ... well, that or confusion, uncertainty and doubt. ;-)

Seriously, I wasn't surprised. At least not at the diversity of faiths near the top or the low ranking of certain more dogmatic or doctrinaire forms. I'm not quite sure what to make of the fact that the scores were so high on so many faiths. 21 of them were over 50%. Possibly reflects my rather Deist view that no one revealed religion has a monopoly on the truth, but that generally they all have positive value in what they can teach us and how they can better individuals and society (the exceptions being generally extreme sub-sects that have distorted the underlying faith in some negative way - such as Qutbist muslims, at least from what I've read of them).

BTW, though we hardly ever discuss religion and her religious upbringing was quite different from mine (much more conservative, though she would meet most people's definition of a liberal, politically, today), my wife's ranking was nearly identical to mine.
