Agreed. Saddam never took a plane down in 12 years. Even the Vietcong did better than that. None the less he was a dangerous fellow that needed a watchful eye. I don't disagree with the no fly zones and the military buildup and the demands of inspections resuming. All good IMO.

Then further we needed to gather the support of the international community, and especially the Arab community, and even more especially the Iraqi people. I feel like we failed on all three accounts.

The post invasion plan didn't envision the chaos that many observers, including myself, warned about. The potential for Civil war. The impression given of an occupation. The disbanding of the Iraqi Army was another stupid move.

So many mistakes have been made...
