Hi cosmic,

My dad always contended that using aluminum cook pots destroyed brain cells. We never had them in the house. We still don't..Actually he might have right with all the Alzheimer's around now days. BTW, I believe it is somehow environmentally caused.

Wow, what a confusing post! Not hard to understand, but you cover so many different subjects.

1)First, I am unclear why you would not want to leave your hair clippings in the yard. I read a wild bird lover sort of article and it suggested doing just that. The birds use hair for their nests, of course.

2)"The whole reason we have agencies like the EPA and the FDA is that THEY are supposed to represent the public good."

Now that is just plain funny! Under Republican administrations like the current one, there seems to be a trend towards protecting companies, not the public, from harm.

3)So are you really advocating Teflon, even if it causes cancer and birth defects? And there is a 50-year cover-up by Dupont? I personally find that very disturbing. And I am aware that other substances are used for artificial joints, etc. One scary thing about Teflon is that it disappears gradually from your cookware. How inert is that, if people are ingesting it?
