I am hopeful that MSNBC will not have that smirking wimp, Ron Reagan, on today to provide commentary.

That guy grates on me in a big way.

He needs to get a real job instead of trading on his name.

Given that the Party will cost $40 million, almost three time the initial disaster allocation for the tsunami victims, I guess we could say that the party is a bit extravagant. FDR served cold chicken salad and pound cake in 1945.

I guess that money could have found other uses...like body armor for the troops. Aid to tsunami victims, no child left behind...or?

I find it mildly disturbing that this is the most expensive inauguration and most disturbing that it is being paid for by private funds. I'm sure there will be no special favors granted for this largesse.

Don't get me wrong the dems are just as bad as the reps when it comes to money.

I propose that we do away with the big salaries for all elected positions. I say we draft people, just like we do for jury duty and used to do for the military, to run in these elections. Everyone has to serve a certain number of terms to satisfy their obligation to the state. And the pay is minimal.
