AK, I don't think many desktop consumers (nor businessfolk) are running multiple applications that each want 100% CPU. Not to say that a few aren't, but I think the vast majority will have 1 core basically idle (but for GUI service calls) until desktop software evolves so that a single, primary application will take advantage of multiple cores. There are a few applications that use HT, and so will also use dual core, but here the difference will be less than might be otherwise because of the 1 + HT ---> 2 w/out HT effect with 90nm Smithfield.
