I did not perceive redfish's post as "butt humor," whatever that means. I doubt that I find butt humor very funny. I think I have a fair and balanced sense of humor, however. You often write really mean things about Ionesco, which I do not appreciate, and I've told you so. However, the post where you wrote "Ionesco's pants are on fire!" did make me laugh, because it was unexpected and communicated your feelings without being an outright nasty personal attack. I am not sure Ionesco thought it was funny, but contrary to what I am assuming your opinion is from your post, I am not simply running interference for her. She is completely capable of taking care of herself. I know this very well from being her arch enemy at one time in the very distant past, The history of squabbling with people at SI for really no good reason at all is well known to most of us. I consider it a complete waste of time and energy and hurt feelings, and that is why I decided to have a moderated thread. People can be really mean online and behave in ways that they never would in person. The problem is that if some of you guys are nasty to Ionesco, which you often are, then it is only fair to allow her to defend herself. My own opinion is that she manages to stay polite and reasonably civil under attack, and that seems to infuriate some people. I have no idea why! But if a fight breaks out, I will have to admonish people, which I find very boring, and which interrupts my meditation and really gets my leotard in a twist! I have kind of bent over backwards (a yoga position, not an attempt at butt humor) to give the returning bannees some freedom (at the request of a returning bannee, actually). However, the terms of use are there so that I can enforce them if need be. The bannees who are still on the ban list are welcome to contact me by PM and I will free them. As all the returning bannees know, that is all that is required, and seems quite fair considering the lengths people went to to get themselves on the list, a badge of honor to some as we know.
