fresc, this power fiasco in California was not deregulation; it was a manipulated mess, pure and simple. Deeper investigation of this "deregulation" would tell you where blame should be placed. - Holly

California is embroiled in a major energy crisis caused by a failed electricity deregulation scheme.

It was frequently, but fairly inaccurately called deregulation.
