Ah, you do have a god - or rather gods. Yep, the Manhattan project was a really "bad" spearpoint. Very big difference in destructive power, but essentially the same kinda thing. The good thing about it is we got it before anyone else. No one is in doubt about man's (and hence, scientist's - they being merely men) ability to destroy things. But - "scientists can create new life forms, ... they can raise people from the dead" - maybe I've missed a few recent breakthroughs. I know about cloning and genetic engineering but we are essentially merely messing around with life forms already in existence.
