CB, I would surmise the Nixons had a very good marriage, evidenced partly by President Nixon's death coming so soon after his wife's death. What do you think of the Fords' marriage? The Johnsons'? The Eisenhowers'? The Trumans'? - Holly

Agree with all there CB....except for the Bush I's....They are so different, and because one of their children died young, I think there has always been a bond. Bush II's just do seem genuine....and I believe it shows...She's no pushover, but has just the right amount of starch....and he definitely does seem to listen....might not always do as she (or others) want, but at least he listens. Re the Carters....they get along, because Rosalyn wears the pants...he goes along to get along.

And poor, poor Jackie Kennedy.

Not really. I have read accounts that indicate she was a "high society" type who sowed a few oats herself before marriage. She knew what she was getting into with Jack. She was poor in a high class environment and always went for the money.
