I haven't read your thread yet today, so I am ignorant about how the left has treated Bush's speech.

I am really curious as to how the left is going to handle this. Bush has handed republicans the means to retain power for a very long time imo. Of course, it will take individuals adept at combining foreign and domestic policy. The question is........ who might that be?

And what can the other party say? Listen to us......this is all wrong? We can't expect this to work? This is too aggressive? How can any American politician run against this idea?

Who ever it is will have to frame their argument carefully so as not to alienate Americans, because I think it will be embraced by a large majority. They have little choice but to improve on the basic premise.

Any ideas?

BTW....Good job recommending Barnett......I think you get the PfP award (for freedom)
