I doubt that there will ever be a single operating system. Apple is set up on a unix platform that is all but invinsible. MSFT PC's are exceptionally vulnerable because all of the files are commingled throught the shared file system. As far as the user interface, I would give pc the thumbs up. However, the reliability of the pc operating system is completely inadequate.

It takes me 5 times longer to figure out how to use an mac application relative to a windows application. However, the apple application runs twice as quickly as a windows application. Once you figure out how to use an mac, it is more efficient. To be honest, I have not made it far enough with a mac to make it remotely useful.
