The issue is that the Islamic jihadists want to kill us, our children and grandchildren. They want to kill a lot more people then "just us" Americans. The question we have to deal with is what is the best way to move forward in this world when you have to deal with extremists? We have plenty of American extremists on our own soil and there are times when "war" or "invasion" is the only viable option remaining. So, have we improved our ability to deal with extremists by invading Iraq and was this the best option available to our government? Similarly, now that we are in Iraq, what is the best course of action going forward? Do we proceed to invade every country where the current regime sponsors chants of "death to America"? Is invasion, is preemptive war the only solution America has at it's disposal to deal with the multitude of extremists in this world? Is this the proper way to safeguard the US? I have plenty of other serious questions as to whether or not this is the sole or primary solution for us moving forward! Is it necessary to invade Iran and Syria next? Will this do anything to stop the brain washing that many Islamic jihadists receive from the day they are born? Must we kill all who oppose us or are there better ways to reduce and eventually minimize the threat from these communities? Is our only solution to kill the Islamic jihadists, their childern and their grandchildren first, before they do it to us without regard for every other Islamic non-jihadist who may be living in the area? Having said the above, I also agree the way that most of the major media portrays events in Iraq is fundamentally flawed. Just think what would have happened during WWII if every gun shot, every explosion was taped and replayed instantly across the world? Immediately questioned and taken out of context? Unfortunately, this is the world in which we live. In an attempt at 'scooping' opposing media outlets, the entire coverage creates a nearly impossible environment for our troups to operating within. How do we fix this? Where do we start without creating an environment where this won't spiral into excessive and unnecessary censorship?
