OTOH, rates are artificially low and if you have a pulse you can get a loan. Especial an home equity loan. Will they all be paid back? Hummm.

OTOH, Social Security was even better for a number of people. If you retired 10 years ago and paid in all your life you got it all back in about 23 months including interest. After 2 years you were home free. I expect that time frame has widened and by the time you get to 65 it will take much longer to recoup your "investment". Then again...maybe not because you may have not been paying in fo the last 5-10 years, AFAIK.
