"It's just difficult to play in the sandbox with those same people whom you might have to later call the axis of evil ... Not only that, but it seems hypocritical to me."

Are you suggesting shifting alliances is something new?

Would it be better to break off relations with nations that don't meet our standards of political freedom and NOT have their help in the fight against terrorism? Should we say FY to China and make them our enemy or continue to engage them and, hopefully, influence them? Should we leave Pakistan to Al Qaeda and its Taliban wannabe friends there, or work with its leaders to help make it a stable, prosperous, peaceful and free nation? Should we maintain good relations with Russia so that we can voice our concerns about developments there as a friend, or should we cut them off because some of their policies worry us, giving hardliners someone to blame for any future problems there?

The funny part of all this is that it's you guys on the left whining about a lack of "nuance" in Bush's policies. Now you want him to adopt some kind of "one-size-fits-all" foreign policy. Pardon me while I chortle.
