The stock of capital (harbors, machinery, telecoms networks, roads, cultivated farmland, mines, patents...) left to the next generations, is what make countries rich.

But oldies resting on their laurels cummulative with young people spending their time going to Prague and Seattle's IMF World Bank political jamborees to chant against globalization, saving whales, rain forest...

No wonder the BRICs arte coming to eat the lunch guess from whom...

Maurice, I'm sure those born deeply in debt appreciate the pollution and instant poverty we've built for them. <G> That's kind of my attitude about estate taxes. Take everything and make the kids do some honest work. You get fewer Bushes and Kennedys undeservedly rising to the top that way.
