"...not the way Americans really should behave, because we have lost the moral high ground."

Those who have mendaciously levied false allegations, cast aspersions, attempted to undermine the principles we are fighting for, and attacked every noble effort engaged in by the United States ... have made many dishonorable assertions about moral high ground. They wouldn't know a moral high ground, if it was perched on thier noses.

Did you have your head in the sand when the torture at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo came up? Or the Iraqi civilians we killed, the hospitals we destroyed, the long lists of war crimed we have committed? Or the basic fact that the war itself is illegal and against international law? I don't feel like rehashing this again--I've done it several times already. Suffice to say, the U.S. is now despised in many, many places, and Americans of good conscience feel ashamed.

Do you disagree with the way I spelled Saddam? Like why the sic?
