I hadn't realized that 1982 was the last time the market started a calendar year exactly like this. Coincidentally, my post used 1982 as a reference point -- the market from Dec. 1982 to Dec. 2004 increased ninefold as measured by the S&P 500 and the Naz. As a long term investor I personally wouldn't mind if those conditions are repeating themselves, so to say the market is positioned like 1982 doesn't particularly bother me.

Of course you can always lie with statistics and call this a "bull" to apologize for Bush's reelection.

I merely pointed out some statistics, which I'm pretty sure were accurate, about the market's level now as compared to various reference point. I didn't mention Bush, or any other politician, or politics or political viewpoints. It was a post about the market tone generally and the perspective from which I view it, for whatever that's worth. I'm really not sure how that's a lie or a comment, apology or otherwise, about Bush's reelection.
