When I paid for a lifetime membership, the agreement was that I was to get all new features and that I would not have to pay SI for future enhancements. Past practice on SI set the precedent and now I'm being told something different. I'm being told that my "lifetime" membership has been changed and that I will now have to pay for functions that I used to have.

The first example that comes to my head is this: I had access to a search function that searched all threads. While this search was not as comprehensive as the current function (at least that's what I'm being sold) and it was "buggy", it was very useful. This has been taken away and I am now being told I have to pay for something I had access to before. I see this as a conflict.

Regardless of the 'value' one puts on each post, why should others -- who have not paid a dime -- be given equal treatment as those who paid. Those who paid with the complete and total understanding that they would not be required to pay in the future. LIFETIME access. FULL access. Not limited, not 1/2 measures but a FULL LIFETIME access to the website. I see this as a conflict.

Many of us used the portfolio section and it has been removed. The quotes and charts that were on every thread have been removed. Do they show up for people who now pay more? How would I know? Am I being asked to pay for something I used to have? Certainly, the answer is yes if you are talking about the ability to do a global search of posts on SI.

It is obvious that many on this thread do not see it the way I do and it is clear that those currently running SI have told the lifetime member that they are now a second class citizen of SI. I see this as a conflict as well.
