as a grandfathered member who is now a paid level 30 user, I can understand gersh's and michael's frustration. they paid for lifetime memberships and were promised full use of the facilities going forward. as a grandfathered member, I was essentially promised the same access when go2net originally bought the site. what I know is that the site was deteriorating and would not be able to grow indefinitely, and INSP wasn't going to do shit to improve it. bob and dave bought the site with a plan to: 1) rewrite the code to ensure ease of growth 2)attempt to give existing members the same functionality that they had before, and 3) make the site profitable with a recurring revenue stream by developing new optional features which members would have the choice to pay for. I think they've done this. are all of the "free" features on the new site the same ones that were available on the old platform? basically. I am more than happy to give them $20/year to help ensure the viability of the place I spend more of my life than any other. I hope this is lucid. I'm on my second glass of a wonderful wine <g>
