Yeah, too bad for the US, the last standing tall ally in Europe is no more<g>

>>More significant, Washington is worried about the possibility of China fulfilling its potential to become a military superpower by purchasing state-of-the-art equipment and technology, which could be used in a forceful campaign to reunify Taiwan with the mainland.<<

If that is what the US is worried about, then here is the bad news, with or without the lifting of EU arm ban, China will reunite Taiwan. That is a given and resolution. Means? that is completely up to Taiwan.

China's strength lies in its unity. In terms of per capita, China will not, may never will, catch up the US and other developed countries and be their equals. So China has to stay as a whole in order to maintain its strength. Every Chinese who wishes China well understands this, and every Chinese leader understands this too (otherwise they would never become a leader). The US gov. understands this too. That is why they tries so hard to separate China into several pieces in order to be manageable for them<g>.
