They won't get elected again (barring catastrophic screwups by the Republicans) until the American people trust that they are serious on the GWOT.

I disagree, Nadine. After four years, IMO, that will have faded as an issue even among those who thought it the key issue in the first place, which wasn't all that wide a majority.
