yes, and militant Islam declared war on the West, specifically the U.S. Saddam was a supporter and funder of militant Islam.

Secondly, we learned from the first WW that its better to assist your former enemies rather than bleed them dry like we did with Germany after WW I.

In Iraq, we put up $20 billion of our own money for reconstruction and we're spending $4.5 billion a month to help bring stability to allow democracy a chance to sprout. We are assisting our former enemies despite the strenuous objections of holier-than-thous such as your self.

The only issues with imagination around here are your own. With just a little bit of imagination, you should picture a Middle East patterned after democratic ideals. It's a worthy goal. But that takes imagination.
