How odd it is that the simple notion of acting to spread freedom and democaracy abroad could be considered controversial.....how low has this country sunk....?

Yep, it's the PNAC American Hegemony insanity come to life. This also includes the militarization...of space. Imagine nukes floating around in the atmosphere occasionally bumping into each other, getting lost or generally malfunctioning.

It's interesting to see people with boundless ambition coupled with boundless incompetence at work in the world.

The Republicans also appear to be changing tactics with SS. Since they've gotten the cold shoulder on the 'privatization' scam (we take money from the elderly and disabled and give it to Wall Street --- geez, wonder why that isn't popular), they're apparently going to go whole hog.

SS Smosial Security, why kill just one part of the New Deal/Great Society etc when you can kill it all. Now they want to go after flat-regressive income taxes, ownership of everything, the death of Medicare, the death of unions, the death of worker's rights, the death of civil lawsuits against corporations, etc. etc.

As one evangelical (paraphrase here) minister said, 'when asked, what would Jesus do? I don't think Jesus would put cutting capital gains taxes and the Iraq war at the top of the list.' LOL. Jesus would do what he did before, preach that Christians (the real ones) above all take care of the 'least amongst us.'

Christians take your religion back.
