A U.S. inquiry into the bombing was made and found that errors on both sides lead to the mistaken attack. The U.S. gov't doesn't feel it was intentional and the U.S. and Israel have been the closest of allies since Israel declared their independence.

What makes you think Israel would intentionally attack the U.S.? Are you one of those tin hats that believes Israel had a hand in 9/11 too? If so, let me know now and I won't bother debating with you about this issue anymore.

Sure. I guess there were a lot of Egyptian ships flying US flags at the time. A perfectly understandable mistake.
