Do you mean medical science? Military science has taken quite a few lives on last check. If you expect to enshrine your definitions for others to worship at least get them straight.

I think we should respect things that work. And people that do good, too.

Reverence is something else. Essentially a religious term - a mistake to use it for humans. Revering men as "gods" or demigods is something that mostly went out centuries ago for good reason.
