Mike, Thanks for the explanation Big place is the Pacific Ocean, bigger that all the earths land mass. Our troop ship spent 31 days going from Seattle to Guam , took a zig-zag route. Only 18 days coming back . Saw nothing but fish , no land, for 18 days at full speed. What a demonstration of a subs integrity that crash was. Crews can sleep more easily now - keep it under 30 knots and worry more about the systems than the hull. Just don't get overconfident and go bouncing off every unmarked underwater object , especially the sharp ones. cia.gov Sig
