At the end of the day, if it continues for another year after the election, then I'll post my concession to you and John, that you were right. However, I still think that giving this thing just 2 years and conceding defeat is not enough.

You see, MM, the issue for me isn't whether I am right or wrong. Its the waste of lives.......all the deaths and the injuries that have me upset. Therefore, your concession does little for me or for the 1000 soldiers that will have died and the 10K more that will have been wounded. Their lives will be pretty much ruined or at least seriously damaged.

During the election, I could not understand why the Viet Vets attacked Kerry; his congressional testimony in the 70s just didn't seem to justify the virulence and viciousness of their attacks. I concluded that what they were really angry but couldn't address was all the men who died or were badly wounded in that war........needlessly as it turned out.

Since they were loyal Americans, they couldn't really attack the gov't or the country. It wasn't until Kerry came along that they found their outlet. And they went after him with a vengeance.

A war does so much damage to the psyche of a nation that there should be a law against it!
