I was able to attend to her interview a while. She really did not like the speech. The interview was more negative than the article. She is a brilliant person. I did not see the speech, so I am not a fit judge. IMO the words of his speech are not worthy of her reaction, but she may have disliked the delivery.

It appears that ex-smokers are more critical of smokers than those who never did. Maybe speech writers are similarly critical of speeches. I think this was your point.
