The Chinese production factor should be considered as they have a funny habit of killing markets for things they produce (a la Walmart effect). Perhaps the supply/demand relationship is too good for them to kill Ole Moly...

Sorry...I forgot the link:

minerals.usgs.gov

A two page Molybdenum report by the:

US Geological Survey, Mineral Commodities Summaries, Jan. 2005

Items from this 2005 report that I found interesting.

-Montana has a producing Molybdenum mine. It restarted in 2004.
-USA, Chile and China are the three largest producers.
-Global Resource - 5 millionT in the US and 13 millionT in the remainder of the world
-There is little substitution for Molybdenum in its major application as an alloying element in steels and cast iron.

Thanks to jpthomas for this find.
