"reverential attitude lesser mortals should have toward them. "

I don't think there's anything should about it. Some people revere Gods, some people revere aliens, and some people revere what people can do. I think it's strange to revere Gods, when there isn't any real proof for them, and I CAN point to the miracles of science, and those miracles are repeatable- but I would never say you or anyone else "should" revere science, you've totally misunderstood me if you think that. I know people who revere God think other people "should" revere their God, but since I don't revere anything in that same way, I don't share those types of feelings. The furthest I would go is to say it would be logical to revere science, but faith isn't logical, so I wouldn't expect logic from people who turn to faith, and who want to have faith.

I'm not sure, therefore, that what I say can be translated appropriately by someone who believes completely different things than I do, and believes in a way differently than I "believe" things. I probably don't code the religiously driven language of other people correctly either. I think coexistence between people of faith, and secular people is becoming increasingly difficult, and begins with the fact that we don't even speak the same language, much less want the same kind of world, or the same means to the same kind of world, but that's JMO.
