Surprisingly, as people in those countries become more affluent, they turn right around, travel here, and invest in American equities, corporate bonds, Government paper, and Real Estate.

Like the tides, things that flow one way in the morning often flow the other way in the afternoon. The Japs tried to hose us economically in the early 70's, and now it's by our kindness that thier economic scandals and collective house-of-cards doesn't collapse on their heads. Today the Chinese may be making some gains, next year+/- they'll be spending it on trips to tour the White House, Plymouth Rock and get some chow from 'Rupert Jee's Hello Deli' or 'Adam's Ribs' in Chicago.

Some will even take delivery of a shiny new Lincoln TownCar or Navigator over here, drive it all around the country on a spending spree, and then ship it home to Beijing - in a reversal of what some of our snobbier "..Krautmobile Jockies.." do here.

Hey..!!! ..You could always pack it up, move to the Sichun or Yichang province in China, and open a JetSki Rental shop-&-Hillary Magazine Stand on the banks of the 3 Gorges Dam...!!!

I'm sure several of us would be willing to chip in - to defray the cost of your 1-Way ticket.

John :-)

Didn't say a thing about relaxing...Did mention trying to do better.

Just curious, when you buy goods and services, do you shop?....Or do you pay the highest "patriotic" price in order to do good for your fellow citizen?
