I try not to think about those things. I choose the people I associate with so as to steer clear of the sorts you mention. The best thing the U. S. has going for it is that here one can start over. And over. And over. You do not get shuttled for life into some level of society that is inescapable unless you go to prison for a felony. Even then, if you get out and are not in other trouble you can start over. But the mindless America-firstness is awful.
