What are you talking about ?

"Rich people get safer heroine, too."

heroine

1 a : a mythological or legendary woman having the qualities of a hero b : a woman admired and emulated for her achievements and qualities

2 a : the principal female character in a literary or dramatic work b : the central female figure in an event or period

I'm going to assume you meant heroin, not heroine.

What a strange analogy! Drugs and abortions are so different. There have been a lot of heroin deaths and overdoses among notable rich rock stars, so I don't believe you can say that rich people get safer heroin. (I'm not saying there's ZERO validity to that argument, just pointing out its weakness.)

But back to abortions. Women will seek abortions no matter what the law is. The first abortions were probably performed by cave men. One of the online sources where I did extensive research for this little post claimed that one cause of abortions is that tribes sometimes had to leave a site quickly and travel, perhaps unexpectedly. Pregnant women slowed everyone down. So they would perform abortions by striking the women's abdomens. Of course, the women often died as well.

The ancient Egyptians, Romans and Greeks all had abortion as part of their culture. There is an island off Crete where a plant grew that caused abortions; it was plucked in ancient times until it was extinct. The Catholic Church did not rule against abortions for any reason until 1869. So it is not just a weird strident Feminist kind of thing.

I am a Democrat, so I believe that poor women should be treated equally with rich ones. If abortion is part of the human drama for women and always has been, it doesn't seem fair to me that poor women should die and rich women should live, although I sincerely wish that abortions were never performed at all.

Here is a little history of abortion, for anyone who is interested:
