re: Easy to say, but until more people wake up to the truth about Social Security, sticking heads in sand will be a bipartisan "solution," and no incumbent will ever fear for their own re-election. And there's the rub. The press seems especially incapable of educating the public these days. You would think the Internet would help.... but it doesn't seem to. BTW, the truth about the general budget vs. SS is probably as much if not more important. But you won't be hearing any politician of either stripe hawking that news. You should have been around when I was your age. The public seemed generally interested in the issues. I think we had more time with many fewer two worker families. Keeping up with the Jones seems to require twice an many work hours these days. John
