I use Skype (www.skype.com) and it's brilliant. PC-to-PC calls are free and PC-to-landline/cellphone calls are very cheap. I call friends and relatives around the world with it all the time and the sound quality is mostly much better than landline (as if the person is sitting next to you) and never worse than a cell phone.
