I believe the reference is to his claiming to be a crusader against fraud perpetrated by others. Maybe he did that too, but he has been found guilty of extortion and racketeering - subject to appeal of course.

Site members, I think they mean. Sounds like a reference to trading ahead of and contrary to his recos. Though the news reports never published any details about that issue other than Hansen's testimony which said to the effect, he never saw it happen but he thought it may have happened anyway. I'm assuming prosecution had something more solid than just that.

Who exactly in the public did elgindy defraud?

According to U.S. Attorney Roslynn R. Mauskopf, the members of his site, for starters: "for trading ahead of members of his Web site or contrary to his advise to them."

Not to mention the ripple effect here and elsewhere...

Glad he went down. Nothing worse than a dirty "crime fighter," even if he is fighting real crime. Dirty can't clean.

Clean it up, Tony. You've got time, before the end...

Who exactly in the public did elgindy defraud?

The indictment alleges that not only AP but additionally other site members not only front ran but also traded directly against the recommendations. So, site members were defrauded; those who acted on AP recs posted here on SI and Yahoo, RB, etc. were also defrauded. I'd say the list is fairly long, considering the following AP had.

The buyers of stock shorted to them by this group may seek legal recourse.
